News and stuff

Hi peoples.

I haven't posted in a while, but that's ok. I'm sure you will survive.
Plenty has happened in the time that I haven't written. Here are ten things.

1. Liz has grown bigger and has started eating more. Hopefully the next time we go to the doctor she won't be down in the 7th percentile for weight.

2. Josh has gotten into a company that helps people get out of debt. It's called Primerica. It's been pretty good for him. He's always enjoyed numbers. He has to practice on people, so you might get a phone call. Or you could call us if you're interested. They do sell life insurance, mutal funds, etc, but that's not really their primary interest in talking to people.

3. I got some of these...

and my gums look like cheese. I'll have them on for about 18 months, so chances are that you'll see me with them before I get them off. Then I get to wear a retainer every night. The orthodontist says that part of the problem was because I have a strong muscle in my lower lip. I guess I give it enough exercise! (chuckles)

Let's see, what else has happened...

4. I'm probably going to go to a part time student for a while because...

5. stress and other things has been too much for me last semester. After I had Liz, I had a tough winter. I went to a depression screening at school and was diagnosed with severe depression. Luckily, our school has therapists who were able to help me with it. I found out the hard way how our chemistry effects us.

Oh, that reminds me. I was going to upload some info I got from my councilor. I suspect others could benefit from it as well. I'll write that on my "to do" list for this week.

Ok, now I'm just babbling. Um... oh yeah, so I've had a few embarrassing breakdowns (Katie has been present for one of them), but I'm doing better. Sunshine helps, sleep helps (har har) and it also helps that I've begun to reassess my goals in life.

6. What else... Genny got me hooked on Dr. Who. Thank you Genny. (Luckily, our library has them on dvd!)

7. Hmmm... I'm getting low on news. Um... oh yeah, our landlord/landlady still hasn't written us up a new contract. We've been living here for a month without any contract. I don't know what that means, but we'll still pay our rent.

8. Liz keeps getting her feet caught in the slats of her crib and waking up crying. Anyone know where I can find just the crib bumper without having to buy the entire blanket-sheet-n'everything set?

9. I got a new video game by trading in some older ones that we never played. It's not a newly released game, but new to me. The new game is called Marvel Ultimate Alliance. You get to play as a group of superheros. (Only Marvel characters.) The fun thing about it is that you get to pick which characters you want on your team. My team has Spiderman, Iron Man, Ms. Marvel, and Storm. Josh had Wolverine, Spiderman, Ms. Marvel, and Thor. We go around saving the day.

10. Ok, so that last one meant I was running low on ideas. I don't have anything new for this one.

The End.

Have Pictures, Will Post

As soon as I get around to it. I will post a picture. or two. or something.

So, I had a *drumroll* missionary moment! At least it felt like one to me. I was talking with my councilor about affirmations, and I told her that the one I use the most is that I am a child of God. I think she took it all objectively and probably didn't really think about it too much, but I got to share my beliefs.

So, I'm probably going to go to bed now. I think I'll have to call someone up from the ward to come watch Liz for an hour whilst I nap since it's 2:30 am right now.

What would one call a meal later than dinner? I feel like eating one of those now.

Enough rambling... where's my check. Waiter!

Checkup

We had our 4 month checkup (at 5 months) a little bit ago.

19% in the weight category. (I think this is a pretty good explaination for why Liz can't go throught the whole night yet, also see the next category.)

86% Length

67% Head

Other baby related news. Liz loves oatmeal. We gave her some during dinner last night, and she made the funniest noises. cute.

The king of the forest was having a meeting with all of the animals in the forest. However, one was missing. Who was it?
The elephant. He's still in your fridge.

A post about...

Relativity.

Things go so slow when you have little to do, but when you actually are doing things, you don't have any more time! What about when you have things to do, but just don't do them?

Adsorption

My teacher is really funny. He was talking about the difference between aBsorption and aDsorption and he explained it like this. ABsorption is like when you eat a hamburger. You injest it. ADsorption is like when you slap a hamburger on your forehead.

Sleep Rotation

Did you ever inexplicably rotate around in your bed when you were young? Isn't it disorienting to wake up and things are familiar, but really different? I haven't experienced this in years, but my daughter turned perpendicular in her bed the other night and made some really odd noises when she woke up.

Multiple Shadows

Have you ever looked at your shadow and seen more than one? What causes this? Is it because of more than one light source? I wonder what Mr. Barrie would have wrote if he was interested in this too. A shadow mofia? Shadow tag? You could have parties with yourself and a light bulb.

Neighbor's Baby Monitor

I went into my baby's room after hearing her cry a few nights ago. It was strange because she was sound asleep and the baby on the monitor was pretty upset. I then realized that it wasn't my baby on the monitor. (Brilliant!) So, I changed the little button from B to A. Now all of a sudden, my baby doesn't wake up three times a night, she only wakes up once. (You thought I was going to say that I heard something I shouldn't have, didn't you...)

Crude, but works anyway. I also found a little sun in the corner too.

Sorry about the spammers

I thought I had upped the security for the comments on my blog, but I was notified that someone had posted a link to a bad site. Hopefully the security is increased this time. Please tell me if nothing has changed.

This one is not a photoshop image, but of a mountain by my parents hometown. There is a horse image sillouette created from the trees and snow. (Note. The horse has a blaze on his nose.)

I'm playing Superman. (Get it, sometimes your tag can look like a mini cape...)

TaggedMy sister Katie tagged me so here you have it. . .

10 Years ago today (Jan 1998)

Frankly, I don't know what I was doing. It was my first year in Blanding and the uranium hadn't affected me yet. Just kidding. Um... yeah. I don't know what I was doing.

5 things on my to-do list today:

2) Go to the TSC for an appointment.
3) Make sure my family feels like I love them.
4) Figure out some programing stuff
5) Take out the stinky trash

Snacks I enjoy:
1) Yogurt
2) smoothies with yogurt
3) Dried Cranberries
4) Carmel
5) Chewy gummy candy

Things I would do if I were a billionaire:
1) Own a large piece of land where I could raise llamas, horses, cows, sheep, reindeer, and whatever else I want. I could also do some gardening. (Finally!)
2) Go on a few missions with my husband.
3) Do a bit of travelling (Josh could learn how to fly and we could fly there ourselves!)
4) I would also pay off some family debts and buy my dad that hot tub I promised him when I was really little.
5) I wouldn't spend all of my money at once.

3 of my bad habits:
1) Staying up late when I should sleep
2) Speaking before thinking
3) Listening to others over myself

5 places I have lived:

A Celebration of the Neck

Hi Ma!
I've mastered the art of Kung Fo at 3 months. (eyebrow raise)
Oh, there's that tasty camera again...
You know, I'm almost old enough to crawl...

A Roll Over

The Finger of Doom

So, Liz rolled over today. She must have thought someone was flipping her, because after three times doing it, she just cried and refused to try and do it again.

I talked to her on the phone last Thursday and she was so cute. She must have recognized my voice because she started making baby cooing noises.

Liz had her doctor's appointment last week. (A little late because of insurance, but better late than never.) I couldn't be there because of my class, but getting her shots was pretty traumatic. Here are the stats.

Weight 11 lbs 6 oz (30%)
Length 61.6 cm (83%)
Head 40 cm (52%) "Hey kids, when's your big head day?"

I

"When a newborn scratches herself with her own fingernail, when an infant puts her foot in her mouth while sitting up, or falls over and then angrily looks around for the person responsible for this, when she pulls her hair and grimacing with pain repeats the same experiment over again, when she knocks herself on the head with a spoon and looks up to see what struck her-the child does not know herself.

When she investigates the movement of her hand, when she carefully examines her fist while sucking away at it, or while toddling, she stops and looks down and tries to find something which seems to be carrying her along, when she compares her right foot inside a sock with the other one-she is trying to find things out and to understand.

When she tests the water in the bath and finds herself to be a conscious drop among all the other drops, it is then that she apprehends the important truth contained in the word: "I."
